This year the SatNEx School will be focused on a specific and very actual topic, i.e. High Throughput Satellites (HTS), both in GEO and LEO orbits and features highly qualified speakers from Industry, Research and Academia. The program will cover all key aspects of the design of HTS, from mission and service requirements to antenna and payload technologies, routing, ground segment design and air interface considerations. Moreover, a dedicated session on emerging optical technologies and a conclusive session with examples of suitable system design approaches will round up a program which is meant to provide young researchers, PhD students, but also professionals approaching the topic of HTS, with advanced knowledge and all the tools which are required to conceive and design Very High Throughput Satellite Systems. The program will also include a visit to the Labs of Graz University of Technology with an overview of their 3 Nanosatellite-Missions (TUGSAT, OPS-SAT and PRETTY) and to the Hilmwarte Tower where JOANNEUM RESEARCH operates its Q/V-Band Ground Station. Last not least, all registered participants to the School can also access free of charge the first morning of the ASMS/SPSC conference, where top-level keynote speeches will take place.

The SatNEx School 2021 "Reinventing Satellite Communication Networks beyond the Digital Era" will be organized and hosted by the Munich Center for Space Communications of the Bundeswehr University Munich, Germany. It will be held on November 23rd -25th, 2021. In line with previous SatNEx schools, this three-day event will enable young researchers and engineers from all over Europe to follow a rich program of lectures addressing key technologies for next-generation satellite communication systems. Registration is now open. For more information, do not hesitate to visit the event website: www.satnexschool.eu.
Important note: A physical event will be held, and we are looking forward to meet you in person in November! Meanwhile, sanitary measures will have to be respected to guarantee a safe stay for the participants. A COVID vaccination certificate or a negative PCR or antigen test will be required.
